Insert vs Full Frame, the Honest Answer

An insert install drops a new window into the existing frame. Faster and cheaper, and fine if the old frame is dry and solid. A full frame install strips the opening back to the studs so we can inspect for rot, install a proper sill pan, tape the flashing, and re trim. If the old windows have leaked at all, full frame is the right call.

Energy Efficiency That Actually Matters

The window sticker matters less than the install. A high U value, low E, argon filled window installed with gaps around the jamb still loses heat like an open door. We foam the perimeter with low expansion foam, flash the outside, and finish the inside so the wall works as a wall.

Most single family homes are 1 to 3 days depending on window count and whether we are doing insert or full frame.

Do you handle egress code for basements?

Yes. Every sleeping room needs an egress window and well sized to code. We cut the opening, install the well and ladder, and get it inspected.

Which windows do you install?

Milgard, Andersen, Marvin, Pella, and Simonton depending on budget and application. All installed with proper flashing to keep water out for the life of the wall.
